School Elections: Polling locations

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

School elections will happen across the KWWL viewing area on Tuesday, September 10th.
For polling locations, contact your county auditor.  Offices in the following counties have contacted KWWL with some changes this year you should know about.

Black Hawk County

The Cedar Falls and Waterloo School Districts are the only districts in Black Hawk County with more than two voting precincts.  All are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Walnut Ridge Baptist Church
1307 W Ridgeway Ave, Waterloo

Grace Baptist Church
3820 Hammond Ave, Waterloo

Cedar Falls City Hall
220 Clay Street, Cedar Falls

Church of Christ
2727 West 4th St, Cedar Falls

Cedar Heights Comm. Presbyterian Church

Nazareth Lutheran Church
7401 University Ave, Cedar Falls

Dunkerton Library, located at 203 E Tower Street in Dunkerton, will be serving as the polling place for the election precinct known as Barclay Lester Dunkerton. This location will be used for the first time at the September 10, 2013 School Elections.

Registered voters in the City of Dunkerton and the Dunkerton School District are being notified of the polling location change, by postcard.

Johnson County

Three school precincts will vote at temporary polling places for the September 10 school election. One of these changes is only for the September 10 school election. The other two changes will also be effective for the November 5 city election, and may be made permanent at a later date.

Iowa City School Precinct 9
(City of Hills, parts of Liberty and Sharon Townships)
Temporary site: Hills Community Center, 110 E. Main St., Hills
Permanent school polling place: Hills Elementary School

This change will also be in effect for the November 5 city election and is likely to be made permanent in the future.

Iowa City School Precinct 10
(Regular precincts Iowa City 6, 16, and parts of Scott and Lincoln Townships)
Temporary polling place: Mercer Park Recreation Center, 2701 Bradford Dr., Iowa City
Permanent school polling place: Lucas Elementary School

This change is due to a schedule conflict at Lucas, and will ONLY be in effect for the September 10 school election. (Note: Mercer Park is the permanent polling place for regular precinct Iowa City 6.)

Lone Tree School District
(City of Lone Tree, Fremont and Pleasant Valley townships, part of Lincoln Township)
Temporary polling place: Lone Tree American Legion, 300 N. Devoe St., Lone Tree
Permanent school polling place: Lone Tree School

This change will also be in effect for the November 5 city election and may be made permanent in the future.

Linn County

In the Cedar Rapids Community School District, voting will take place at five Vote Center locations as opposed to individual precinct polling places that have been used in the past. These locations will be at the four Cedar Rapids Community School District high schools and the new Education, Leadership & Support (ELS) Center.

Polling places for the other Linn County school districts have been used as Vote Centers for the past two regular school board elections and will continue to be open as Vote Centers this year. All Vote Centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
